Hi, I’m Haley! I love the Lord and have a passion for theology. I frequently can be found listening to sermons (by John Piper, Voddie Baucham, Paul Washer, Jeff Durbin) as I am cleaning my ever messy kitchen or folding absolutely endless loads of laundry. I love to read, and one of my biggest passions is taking in truth and teaching it in creative ways to children. Homeschooling is one of my greatest joys. I’m a DIYer at heart. I love all things creative: painting, drawing, building, playing guitar and mandolin, singing, etc. My husband (the smartest man I know) is almost always reading something. I know smart and funny are the typical cliche compliments for a significant other, but he really IS super smart, and HILARIOUS (…not to mention a hunk). He is the pastor of Next Generation Ministries at our church. He plays almost every instrument, but he’s extra special at drums, banjo, and bass. We love Bluegrass music and play (with our friend Alison) as a little local band called, The Bearcat Pickers. We are a blended family with five children, knowing the devastation and betrayal of divorce firsthand. We see our family as redemptive work of God. I homeschool two of our children, the rest attend public schools. Navigating our life, with it’s complexities, taking every area captive to the obedience of Christ, can be tricky business.
As I write here in this blog my goal is to do several things, hash out how to obey Christ in every aspect of our lives and what that looks like (we won’t do it perfectly, but we can sure strive together), recommend quality theologically solid resources for both adults, families, and children, and to above all draw closer to the Lord and glorify Him.
